Below is a list of the available positions on some of Trumbull's volunteer boards and commissions. Interested persons should send a letter or email about their interest and a brief description of why they wish to serve. Applicants must be a Trumbull resident and a registered voter.

Arts Commission - 1 position available, 5 year term

The Trumbull Arts Commission is involved in promoting the arts in Trumbull as well as being a liaison for disseminating information between the Community and the Arts. The commission presents a series of Sunday afternoon concerts from October through May and sponsors the K-12 Art show and supports the annual Trumbull Arts Festival in September.


Beautification Commission - 1 position available, 3 year term
The Beautification Commission plans and develops beautification projects for the town which will beautify publicly-owned lands and rights of way of the town not already within the jurisdiction of the Park Commission. The Commission shall have the duty to advise the First Selectman and all boards and commissions concerning the aesthetic impact on the town of all development with the exception of single-family homes. They shall also promote and encourage actions by individuals and civic organizations that will enhance the appearance of the town. In addition, they shall encourage and persuade the owners or tenants of commercial, retail, service and comparable properties, to maintain them in neat and attractive condition; coordinating with other officers and agencies of the town any action necessary to enforce town ordinances pertaining to the appearance of these properties.

Conservation Commission - 1 position available, 4 year term
The commission is authorized and empowered to negotiate any and all leases for the rental of such open space land, to develop and execute plans and programs for the conservation and use of such open space land, and to delegate responsibility for the intensive management of any part of these lands to other public and private organizations for the benefit of the public. Additional powers and duties are provided in Section 7 - 131a of the General Statutes

Recreation Commission - 1 position available
The Recreation Commission plans, promotes, organizes, supervises and carrys out recreational programs for the Town.

Senior Citizens Commission - 1 position available, 2 year term
The Senior Citizens Commission studies of the conditions and of the needs of elderly persons in the community in relation to housing, economics, employment, health, recreational and other matters. It shall analyze the services for the aged provided by the community, both by public and private agencies, and shall make recommendations to the First Selectman regarding the development and integration of public and private agencies, in cooperation with state and other services to the extent possible.

Youth Commission - 1 position available, 5 year term
The Youth Commission plans, promotes, organizes, supervises, sponsors and carrys out youth-oriented programs and activities for the Town.
