Trumbull Democrats seek to divide the community over the Pool issue.

(Trumbull, CT)- In response to a scheduled Trumbull Democratic Town Committee meeting regarding the Hillcrest Middle School Pool, The Trumbull Republican Town Committee is concerned about the divisive tactics of the Trumbull Democrats regarding the Hillcrest Middle School Pool. "We agree that the Hillcrest Pool needs to be addressed and we are willing to work with all concerned parties on a fiscally responsible and reasonable solution", stated Jack Testani, Chairman of the Trumbull Republican Town Committee. "We feel that this a town-wide issue and we are concerned with the Trumbull Democratic Town Committee's attempt to divide the town into a "you are for us or against us mentality" continued Testani. "Voters and constituents across America have shown a real distaste for these divisive political tactics and we are encouraging the Democratic Leadership in Trumbull to stop making this a partisan issue" Testani concluded.

In a fiscally challenging time, the leadership of Trumbull has had to make many difficult decisions – including the removal of a new town pool in the like new Trumbull high school renovation. While this was a difficult decision to make, it was fiscally prudent, along with the many initiatives under consideration by First Selectman Timothy Herbst and the town leadership, to keep taxes in check and keep Trumbull in good fiscal standing. Trumbull Republicans are confident that by working together, the elected officials of Trumbull will continue to make the right decisions and make Trumbull a place for generations to return to raise their families.
