Jack Testani installed as new Chairman of Trumbull’s Republican Party

Trumbull, CT. March 18, 2008 -- Jack Testani was formally elected to the post of Chairman of the Trumbull Republican Town Committee last night at the Trumbull Public library. A capacity audience of Republican Town Committee members voted on a slate of offices that will manage the party over the next two years. Mr. Testani who is replacing outgoing Chairwoman Dee Chiota says "I am looking forward to working with our Republicans in Trumbull and my colleagues on the Republican Town Committee in bringing a fiscally accountable and responsible government to Trumbull, once again."

Testani went on to state, "I want to build on our latest successes at the voting booths by developing and articulating a consistent message of fiscal responsibility, transparent government and a strong quality of life. During these trying economic times, the people of Trumbull want solid, steady leadership. As Chairman, I will work with our elected Republican officials at the local and state level in making this happen." Testani believes that good days are ahead for the Trumbull Republican Town Committee. Testani pointed to the recent gains the party made in the 2007 municipal election cycle, as well as Rob Russo’s recent state senate victory.

Testani indicated that the party is in a good position to retain the Senate seat in November. He also indicated that first term State Representative Tom Christiano would be a prime target for re-election. Christiano defeated Republican Jack Stone by a mere 20 votes in 2006.

As part of his overall vision for the party, Testani also indicated that winning the 2009 race for First Selectman will be one of his top priorities. To accomplish that goal, in his opening remarks to the RTC at its installation of new officers, Testani said he would focus on the three M’s - - Money, Message and Manpower. This will include aggressive fundraising efforts, articulating a uniform message for the party, with an emphasis on getting all town committee members to focus on grassroots, retails politics intended to build party membership and win elections.

Testani, a nearly twenty year Trumbull resident, has previously served on the Board of Finance and is a current member of the Land Acquisition and Preservation Committee. He and his wife, Suzanne, a District 1 Councilwoman, are the proud parents of two sons, both of whom attend Trumbull High School. He resides at 50 Cranbury Drive with his family.

The Republican Town Committee also elected Lisa Valenti its new Vice Chairman, Thomas Kelly its new Secretary and re-elected Carl Scarpelli its Treasurer.
