To the Editor:
On behalf of the Trumbull Republican Town Committee (TRTC), we would like to thank the voters of Trumbull. We thank you for opening your doors to us as we campaigned. We thank you for listening to our message. We thank all of those who placed a candidate's sign on their lawn, and for reading our campaign literature. We thank you for your contributions to the Trumbull food pantry during our visits to Stop and Shop and the opening of Republican headquarters. We thank you for taking the time to talk to us when we called you on the telephone to discuss issues of vital importance to Trumbull.
On Election Day, Trumbull residents came to the polls in overwhelming numbers to cast their ballots. When the votes were tallied, a Republican was re-elected First Selectman for the first time in 40 years!
We wish to thank Mary Beth Thorton for her years of service to the Town of Trumbull. Our political differences may have been apparent however, Ms. Thorton deserves our respect for her dedication and volunteer time to our Town.
In the coming year, Trumbull's Republican Party will continue to work toward our goals of raising public awareness of town issues, and getting more citizens involved and engaged in our Town's government. We will continue to work tirelessly in achieving fiscal responsibility and accountability for Trumbull which will enable us to maintain our commitment to a strong education for our children and public safety for all of our residents. Welcome to the Trumbull Republican Town Committee Website.
Our primary responsibility as an organization, is to recruit and support candidates to
run for state and local office. In addition, we as Republican Town Committee (RTC) members
try to work collectively to raise funds for the RTC, volunteer during election season, and
promote a Republican agenda of fiscal responsibility, limited government, quality schools, etc.
Our meetings are usually held on the third Monday of the month, at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Hall Council Chambers. All registered Republicans are welcome to attend.
